A study in the UK Alcohol is the most harmful drug to addict and other people around them, alcohol scored more than 70% on a maximum possible harm scale . According to the study alcohol is the most harmful drug in Britain, scoring 72 out of a possible 100, far more damaging than heroin (55) or crack cocaine (54). It is the most harmful to others by a wide margin, and is ranked fourth behind heroin, crack, and methamphetamine (crystal meth) for harm to the individual. Study was paid for by Britain's Centre for Crime and Justice Studies and was published online Monday in the medical journal, Lancet.
